Devotionals, Bible Study, Spirituality, Meditation

  • Devotionals, Bible Study, Spirituality, Meditation
I am a Christian & my family & I attend a Non-Denominational church when we don't have a baseball tournament (I will explain that later). The religion I grew up with didn't really give me a strong foundation with Biblical knowledge & I would LOVE to continue to grow spiritually for myself & my children.

I want to continue to grow in my relationship with God & give my children a strong spiritual base with a Biblical foundation. I would also like to become more confident with praying. I 'talk' with God quite a bit and I am comfortable with silent prayers and with praying with my children, but I am in awe of people that pray for others out loud, lead group prayers, etc. A group of girlfriends and I had a Bible study group and one of our good friends blew us away every-time she led us in prayer – she always knew exactly what to say...I want to be able to do that for others.

Jordan & I have been reading & studying the book Becoming a Better You by Joel Osteen – we are really enjoying it (when we actually get a chance to work on it). We definitely need to make the time which leads me to my first goal in this category - to become consistent with my studying and growing. Yes I might be tired or there might be something else that needs to get done, but if God wakes me every day then I can definitely make time for Him.

Then the way you life will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit.  All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better.  ~ Colossians 1:10

I can do it all!

Stepford Wife”...”Soccer Mom”...”Bree VanDeCamp”...”Martha Stewart”...”Wonder Woman”... I have been called all of these things and more! If you are unfamiliar with these 'terms' they refer to moms/women that “do it all. Great moms, wives, homemakers, cooks, etc. & not only can they do it all but they look perfect at the same time...YEAH RIGHT!

I have been called these “names” many times as I am sure many of you have been told the same, but honestly I feel like I am FAR from perfection & I'm sure I can give you a list of people that would agree! When people think of you this way it does lead to a little bit of pressure to do everything a 'certain' way because of expectations...

Well, I believe that we are ALL a work in progress and I also believe that we can do all things through Christ that strengthens us. My goal is to get my life in order (not to be perfect but to simplify my life) so that I can tap into all of the gifts God has given me, enjoy life & maybe even find some free time for myself.

There are a MILLION self-help books, blogs, etc and another MILLION websites that set out to make things “easier” for us. Problem is you have to go to one place for recipes & menus, another for homeschooling tips, another for cleaning and homemaking, and the list goes on.

If you are ANYTHING like me you set out to simplify your life so you can accomplish as much as possibly as efficiently as possible and even with the best intentions I get totally side tracked & keep going to link after link completely forgetting what I was trying to get done in the 1st place!

Well I am on a mission (for myself & to hopefully help you along the way). To truly enjoy life, to take the time to smell the roses and to not take anything for granted. I am open to any ideas, suggestions, tips & tricks so please pass them on! FYI – Please keep things positive because we are here to help each-other not to tear anyone down. Thanks!

Here is a quick rundown of everything I would like to 'get together'.
  • Devotionals, Bible Study, Spirituality
  • Relationships
  • Parenting
  • Homeschool
  • Menu, Recipes
  • Cleaning, Housekeeping, Gardening
  • Saving & Making Money
  • Exercise, Fitness, Wellness
  • Tips & Tricks, Hobbies, Fun, Misc, Etc

So join me on my journey...& just to forewarn you I'm pretty sure there will be days that I may not accomplish half of what I have on my list or days that I feel like I'm spinning in circles. No one is perfect & I'm not trying to be – I'm just trying to live my best life for myself & my family!

BTW - My name is Megan. I am the mother of 2 wonderful boys, Jordan (12) and Jayce (pronounced like Chase but with a J - about 1 1/2 months) - huge gap...yes we know.  More about the boys and my fiance, Wayne, later.

Before we get started (over the next few posts) I am going to give a quick rundown of where I am in my life & where I want to be. I can't wait for us all to grow, learn & laugh together!

I can do it all!!!

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. ~Philippians 4:13
